Job Description
OverviewBESTAFF is seeking an experienced TIG Welder specializing in food-grade and stainless steel welding to join our growing team in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, attention to detail in producing high-quality welds, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. This role is critical in fabricating, repairing, and maintaining stainless steel equipment and components that meet strict industry standards.Temp to Hire$22.00-$30.00 hourly based on experience 7:00AM – 3:30PMResponsibilitiesWelding Operations
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel, food-grade materials, and other metals as required.
- Ensure welds meet food-grade sanitary standards with smooth, contamination-free finishes.
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to technical specifications.
- Operate and maintain welding tools, jigs, clamps, grinders, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on welding machinery to minimize downtime.
- Conduct weld inspections to verify strength, accuracy, and sanitary compliance.
- Minimize rework by maintaining precise, high-quality welds.
- Adhere to company and industry standards for stainless steel and food-grade fabrication.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
- Follow job specifications to ensure accuracy and project compliance.
- Work with production teams, engineers, and contractors to meet deadlines.
- Follow strict safety protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
- Proven experience in stainless steel TIG welding and food-grade fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of MIG welding (aluminum and steel preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, weld symbols, and schematics.
- Familiarity with sanitary welding practices for the food & beverage industry.
- Proficiency in operating welding machines, grinders, saws, and cutting tools.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, bend, stoop, and work in overhead or confined spaces.
- Experience in maintenance welding, including hydraulics and conveyors.
- Prior work with automation systems or advanced welding equipment.
- AWS or equivalent welding certifications.
