Assembler Opening in Park100
This position is 1st shift 6am-2:45pm at $18/hr.
Candidates must have blueprint experience and a solid work history.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:The Assembler performs assembly of mechanical, electrical & shipping assemblies that meet customer, quality and Engineering specifications. Responsibilities may include submitting fully operational equipment assemblies for quality checks, as well as training other assemblers.  This position will identify and seek to resolve quality issues, job documentation and suggest continuous improvements.  The Assembler will always practice safety in the highest regard.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows drawings, electrical/pneumatic schematics, work instructions, job documentation and verbal instructions to ensure proper assembly of components.
  • Coordinates activities with supervisor, engineering and other assemblers working on the same project.
  • Assembles crates and packaging materials.
  • Plans and lays out assembly projects as to sequence of assembly, testing procedures, component and wiring arrangement, etc., to conform with drawings, wiring diagrams and engineering specifications. 
  • Responsible for the assembly of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Inspects parts for proper finish, working order and dimensions.
  • Assists with or independently checks and tests subassemblies and units. 
  • Assists less experienced assemblers and has the potential to train other assemblers (Levels I and II).
  • Operates equipment such as a drill press, band saw, cut-off saw, power hand tools and other shop equipment.
  • Resourcefully resolves assembly/design problems, working closely with their supervisor and other employees to suggest revisions to a design that improves both the quality and the cost containment.
  • Participate and/or lead Operational Excellence, Lean, and other process improvement measures.
  • ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cleans and maintains work area utilizing 5S and other tools.
  • Operates other equipment such as hand tools, power tools, fork-lift and other machines.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies and participates in required training sessions.
  • May assist the Technical Support Specialist.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 BASIC SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and follow written or verbal instructions in English. 
  • Capacity to properly use and read measurements on tools involved in the assembly process.
  • Is able to read blueprints & schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic).
  • High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination. 
  • Is able to assemble and/or wire a complex mechanical or electrical assembly and sub-assembly.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Working understanding of computers.
  • Proficient knowledge of electronics.
  • Familiarity of pneumatics.
