Automation Technician
Clear Lake, WI 54005 US
Job Description
$18-$22/hr depending on experience!Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
This Automation Technician leads and manages the automation installation, application, and improvement efforts at the site. This position works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure the strategic and tactical implementation of part tooling, part manipulation, and masking for new and existing applications. Provides training and education to others to identify and successfully execute automation and simplification projects.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ï‚· Employs a variety of automation options resulting in reduced costs, improved quality, and reduced turnaround time.ï‚· Coordinates new ideas and improvements with the engineering group in Indianapolis as necessary.ï‚· Programs, troubleshoots, and repairs machines.ï‚· Manage, trains and supports the installation and operation of automation equipment. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.• Supports development projects - data gathering, organizing and reporting.• Monitors market trends and regulatory changes in the field through training, reading, researching, classes and seminars, and in discussions with other SCS departments.EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associates or Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline with 1 or more years of related work experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).BASIC SKILLS: ï‚· Proficiency in reading, understanding and using electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify required replacement partsï‚· Proven abilities in the creation of technical and instructional documentation.ï‚· Strong electrical experience including Three Phase, PLC troubleshooting and/or programming, wiring/new installations and reading schematics. ï‚· Proficiency in using the appropriate personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout, and following all specific requirements for working safely with facilities electrical systems and all forms of potential energy sources. ï‚· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.ï‚· Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. ï‚· Ability to use precision measuring and laboratory instruments, such as calipers, scales, micrometers, and other test/inspection equipment. ï‚· Ability to interact closely with other departments to support customer focus and efficient operations.ï‚· Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.ï‚· Demonstrated capacity to work with Microsoft Office Products, Lotus Notes, and other critical computer applications. Two-dimensional CAD knowledge desired. ï‚· Possesses well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. ï‚· Ability to comprehend and carry out English written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos.ï‚· Helpful but not required – Knowledge of Parylene. ï‚· Helpful but not required – Knowledge of Chemistry.ï‚· Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
