Leather Cut Table
Job Description
BESTAFF is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Leather Cut Table Operator to join our production team in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This role is responsible for cutting leather hides and materials accurately and efficiently according to production specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.
7:00AM-3:30PM – M-F
Pay rate: $15.00 hourly
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect leather hides for defects, thickness, and quality prior to cutting
• Measure, mark, and cut leather using cutting tables, dies, knives, or cutting machines
• Follow cutting patterns, templates, and production instructions
• Maximize material yield and minimize waste
• Maintain a clean and organized cutting area
• Perform basic equipment setup and routine maintenance
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
• Report material defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns promptly
Qualifications
• Previous experience in leather cutting, upholstery, textile cutting, or manufacturing preferred
• Ability to read measurements, patterns, and work orders
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as required
• Basic math skills
• Dependable with strong work ethic and attendance
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Physical Requirements
• Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods
• Lifting and handling leather hides and materials (up to [X] lbs., as applicable)
• Repetitive hand motions
Work Environment
• Manufacturing/production facility
• Exposure to cutting tools and machinery
• Climate may vary depending on season
