GENERAL MANAGER – DISTRIBUTION CENTERPlainfield, IN | $85, 000 – $100, 000 Annually | Direct Hire | Bilingual English/Spanish Required ABOUT THE ROLEBESTAFF is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead full-scale distribution center operations for a growing employer in Plainfield, IN. This is a high-impact leadership role for a proven operator who knows how to build teams, drive metrics, and execute at volume. The right candidate brings hands-on distribution center GM experience, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with a bilingual (English/Spanish) workforce. WHAT YOU' LL DO
- Lead all day-to-day distribution center operations — receiving, picking, packing, and shipping — with full accountability for service levels across the operation.
- Manage and control labor throughout the facility; monitor labor costs and optimize staffing efficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvements to maximize throughput, minimize errors, and drive operational excellence.
- Own inventory accuracy through disciplined cycle counting, reconciliation, and WMS utilization.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff — identifying high performers and addressing performance gaps proactively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, procurement, and client-facing teams to ensure on-time order fulfillment.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a secure, compliant work environment at all times.
- Evaluate and continuously improve warehouse layout, storage utilization, and material flow.
- Manage supplier and carrier relationships to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and resolve operational issues; execute with minimal supervision.
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior operational leader of a distribution center or large-scale warehouse — required.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal) — required.
- Strong command of KPIs and metrics-based management; you lead with data.
- Track record of building cohesive, high-performing teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Deep knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and WMS/operational software.
- Excellent leadership presence with communication skills that work across the full org chart — from floor associates to executive stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and decisive — you surface problems early and solve them fast.
- Service levels are met consistently across inbound, outbound, and cycle count operations.
- Labor costs are actively managed and productivity metrics trend upward quarter over quarter.
- The facility operates as a cohesive unit with clear accountability at every level.
- Client satisfaction is high; issues are communicated and resolved before they escalate.
