Baler Operator - 2nd Shift
Job Description
BESTAFF is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Baler Operator to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN. The Baler Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating baling equipment to compress and bundle recyclable materials such as corrugated cardboard, paper, and plastics. This role ensures that materials are processed according to company standards and supports overall warehouse and production operations.2nd Shift – 2:00PM-10:00PM M-F$18.50 hourlyTemp to HireKey Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor baler equipment to compress and bind recyclable materials.
- Feed, sort, and load recyclable materials into the baler.
- Securely tie, stack, and stage bales for storage or transport.
- Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Maintain accurate records of material volume, weights, and bale counts.
- Communicate any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or workflow issues to supervisors.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks, including material handling and cleanup as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience operating balers, forklifts, or similar warehouse machinery a plus (training provided if needed).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions.
- Warehouse/industrial setting with varying temperatures.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- Requires wearing PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
