Incredible Opportunity for experienced Machine Shop associates!
This position will be working in a large machine shop to produce transportation devices. Experience in assembly of pipe and sheet metal is required. This is a temporary to hire opportunity with excellent benefits after hire.
BESTAFF is actively recruiting candidates for a client specializing in the manufacture of transportation components. In this hands-on production role, associates will be directly involved in the assembly of structural components. This is an excellent opportunity for detail-oriented individuals who take pride in producing safety-critical infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble units according to engineering specifications and quality standards
- Utilize hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, torque tools) to fasten, secure, and install components
- Measure and verify component dimensions using tape measures and other measuring instruments
- Read and follow work orders, assembly diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Inspect finished assemblies for defects, misalignments, or quality deviations before sign-off
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with 5S standards
- Meet production quotas while sustaining consistent quality output
- Properly handle, stage, and store materials including metal components, hardware, and sub-assemblies
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or material shortages to the supervisor promptly
- Collaborate with team members to support production line efficiency and daily output goals
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
- Prior manufacturing, assembly, or production environment experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools and basic measuring equipment
- Ability to read simple diagrams, work orders, or assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail—this role supports safety-critical infrastructure
- Reliable attendance and commitment to schedule adherence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach for the duration of an 8–10 hour shift
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis; team-lift for heavier components
- Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Use of PPE required: safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection
