Job Description

BESTAFF is hiring for a Project Planner that has strategic warehouse planning experience.  
Department: Operations / Supply Chain
 Reports To: Project Manager / Implementation Manager (or Operations Leader)
 
Position SummaryThe Project Planner supports warehouse relocation and implementation projects, helping move distribution or warehouse operations from one location to another with minimal disruption. This role assists in building implementation plans, coordinating timelines, and providing on-site operational support during the launch and stabilization period. The Project Planner thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly organized, and can manage multiple priorities while working cross-functionally with internal teams, customers, and vendors.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and execution of warehouse relocation and implementation plans, including detailed project timelines and task tracking.
  • Support site transition activities including inventory relocation, process setup, labor planning support, layout execution, and operational readiness checks.
  • Provide on-site operational support during launch and stabilization phases to ensure smooth start-up and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication between operations, engineering, IT, transportation, HR, safety, and customer stakeholders.
  • Help identify risks and operational gaps; support mitigation planning and escalation as needed.
  • Track implementation action items, deliverables, and project milestones to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Support documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, process maps, and training schedules.
  • Assist with operational performance monitoring during stabilization (e.g., productivity, receiving/putaway/order fulfillment, inventory accuracy).
  • Participate in on-site meetings, daily standups, and implementation progress reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and status reporting using Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, supply chain, or 3PL environment.
  • Exposure to site launches, transitions, warehouse moves, or implementation support strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in fast-paced, evolving operational environments.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills—able to work professionally with warehouse associates through executive leadership.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and travel extensively, including multi-week site assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting warehouse automation implementation, WMS go-lives, or process redesign initiatives.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis).
  • Basic project management experience (task tracking, timeline management, reporting).

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in typical warehouse conditions including varying temperatures, noise levels, and activity.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires frequent presence in warehouse and distribution center environments and extensive travel to support relocation and implementation projects.
