Job Description

BESTAFF is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in New Albany, Indiana. This role is responsible for preparing outgoing seed shipments, maintaining accurate shipping records, and ensuring products are packaged and delivered safely and on time. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments according to customer orders
  • Package seed products securely to prevent damage during transit
  • Verify order accuracy by checking product labels, quantities, and documentation
  • Operate shipping software to generate packing slips, labels, and bills of lading
  • Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight services) for daily pickups
  • Maintain shipping logs and ensure inventory records are updated
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed
  • Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures
  • Communicate shipment status and issues with supervisors and other departments
  • Keep shipping and staging areas clean, organized, and compliant with regulations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous warehouse or shipping experience preferred
  • Familiarity with shipping systems and basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Forklift experience a plus (certification may be provided)
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a warehouse setting and may involve exposure to seed dust, outdoor weather conditions, and heavy equipment. Safety gear may be required.  BESTAFF is an equal opportunity employer
