Machine Operator
Job Description
Job Title: Machine Set-Up and OperatorJob Summary:BESTAFF is looking for a Machine Set-Up and Operator. The Machine Set-Up and Operator is responsible for preparing, adjusting, and operating machinery to ensure it runs efficiently and produces materials that meet company standards for quality and productivity. This role requires technical precision, attention to detail, and adherence to established safety and operational procedures. M-F 6:00 A.M. -2:30 P.M.$15.50 hourlyKey Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate tools and machines according to written instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
- Review blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine proper setup sequences and operating parameters.
- Select, install, and secure appropriate tools and fixtures for each production run.
- Position and fasten workpieces onto machine tables or holding devices using clamps, wrenches, or other tools.
- Prepare and adjust fixtures and feeding devices; start machines and engage feed mechanisms.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent performance and output quality.
- Inspect measuring instruments (e.g., gauges, calipers, micrometers) to confirm they are calibrated and in good working condition.
- Regulate machine settings and controls to maintain optimal operation.
- Sharpen or maintain tools using bench grinders and other appropriate equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in machine setup and operation in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of measurement tools and precision instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
